Customer Feedback Page

Many people have asked for some "references" of satisfied recipients of Kmc equipment.  Therefore I decided to make copies of the numerous emails we get from our satisfied customers.  These pages get revised when ever we get the time.  Below are actual emails concerning their new pedalboards & road cases.  Also check our feedback on ebay ~ username SlappyMcfinklestien.

I got the it! Its great. I was afraid that it might be small since I made some changes to my pedal board since I ordered but its a little bigger then I need right now which is perfect. I'm painting the risers right now. The only bad thing I can say is the hinges worked themselve loose during shipping so I'll have to screw them back on but thats no biggy. Thanks so much!!

Hey Mike,
WOW! The case is HUGE. Everything looks awesome. It isn't as heavy as i thought it would be, which is a big plus, counting on how heavy the amp is it self. I didn't have too much trouble getting it in. After the amp was in its case, the door latches lined up perfect. The back is just about perfect as well. The overall quality is better than I ever expected it to be. I'll get some pictures to you as soon as I can get my hands on a camera. Good thinking, sending business cards, I forgot to ask for some, I will defiantly give them out to some band friends of mine. Hope I can bring you a few more customers or spread your name. Thanks a lot. I'll send you those pictures as soon as possible. - Pat

Mike,
All I can say is AMAZING!
I got the case yesterday afternoon, and set it all up the minute I got
it. It looks so slick, and it's so light yet could withstand nuclear
fallout! My bass player's jaw dropped when he saw how tight it was. He
couldn't believe the final price tag was only $300.

First class job and I will definately be giving you business in the
future. Give me a couple days, and I'll have pics with your case live
rocking out at CBGBs this weekend!

Thanks again!

Michael.

She's here.  Great work on the board.  It's real solid construction and looks great.  And man, you threw in the extra board and the velcro - most guys wouldn't do that.  So again, I really appreciate it.  We'll see how our friends at Northwest Airlines like it tomorrow.

One thing I found that I've already fixed: looks like you used two different length screws for the hardware.  The longer ones were in the handle, and they stuck through and were pretty sharp and poking out.  The shorter ones were in the latches, and they weren't poking through.  I put the longer ones in the latches where they screwed into a double thickness of wood, and the then I put the shorter one in the handle.  All good, nothing poking out.  You might just want to watch out for that in the future.

So, thanks so much for the extra goodies and for getting this to me on time.

Yours,
Chris Soucy

Hey Mike.

Size of the board was right on.  They didn't even blink at the airline check in counter, and to my surprise they didn't open it up to inspect it either - even full of Tube Screamers and volume and wah pedals.

I've already busted one of the rubber feet off though.  I have no idea how.  The other three are in there rock solid and I did carry it on the plane so it didn't get abused by the baggage handlers.

Can you tell me the brand name and/or product number of those feet?  Maybe I can grab them at the local hardware store to replace the one I've lost.

Thanks,
Chris

I used the pedalboard this weekend for a gig and it worked just fine. Thanks.

That sounds good about the stand case. The case will need to hold 29.5" x 5"x
42". just foam on the insides. I also need 2 extra handles--- let me know if
you could throw that in too. My organ case has one handle in the middle, and
its very awkward to carry, so i'd like to install 2 more handles on it.

won't fit in my band's van with all of our other gear (we pack it
really tight) but it will work good for when i need to fly with my
cymbals. i think i can just send it with my checked bags and it should
be safe.

the only thing i noticed was that one of the hinges was kinda bent so
it closes a little off. i had to work with to get it to close right.
did you notice anything like that? just one of the little clasps on
one of the hinges. otherwise it looks great.
thanks a lot!

The board is finished and it’s just what the doctor ordered.  See pics attached.

Top view:  Initially, judging by the pics on your website, I didn’t think all my stuff would fit on the board.  When I got the board, I was like, “S%^&!  I gotta go buy more pedals!”  Twist my arm, right?  Seriously, I’d say I could comfortably add at least 2, if not 3 more pedals and have plenty of room.

Sideview:  I really dig the custom tier.  As you can see, the volume, wah and H2O pedals are much taller than the other pedals.  On my old, flat board, I found myself stepping around pedals in order to reach the Rust Boost or the Sparkledrive which are both very low profile pedals.  I’d end up kicking my volume pedal or hitting my delay by accident.  Having the custom tier not only makes it easier to reach all my effects, but also creates a lot of room because the power supply is hidden.  Prospective buyers: spend the extra $15; it’s totally worth it.

Dunlop PS:  The DC brick hides nicely under the tier.  The AC plug fits perfectly on its side and is fastened with some Velcro to the inside of tier.

Rearview:  The George L’s not only keep the board clean, but the vintage red looks sweet.

Again, thank you for building such a great board.  I’ll be sending you lots of customers.

Hey Mike.
My board showed up today.
Looks way sturdy & pimpin as hell in the orange vinyl.
She will get noticed.
Thanks for a great deal.

Only 2 small gripes.
It showed up w/ a nasty inch long tear & chip in the side of the lids top.
I assume this happened during shipping.
If you could shoot me a bit of extra vinyl to cover it up it would rock.
Also I had to remove the foam in the lid in the riser area to get it to close when loaded up w/ boss or line6 pedals.

Otherwise I'm a happy camper.

Attatched is a pic of the board loaded down, & the chip in the lid.

Thanks again,
Rick

Hey Rick,

That sucks!  Damn UPS monkey's!  I'll get you some out ASAP.  Worst case after you patch it would be find a cool bumper sticker to cover it.  I added some thicker foam to your board ~ mostly because I ordered the 2 1/4 instead of the 1 1/2 stuff.  Did you have any problem pulling out the foam?

Thanks
Mike

 Hi Mike,

Just wanted to let you know that I finally completed the pedalboard you
built for me recently.  It turned out nicely and will do a good job
transporting my gear when I venture out.  Also, it turns out I packed it
with more than what we originally intended.  Here's what's in that small
 space!

 Ernie Ball 6166 Volume Pedal
 Voodoo Lab Pedal Power 2
 Boss TU-2 Chromatic Tuner
 Voodoo Lab Ground Control
 Sennheiser Digital 1000 Wireless
 Axess Electronics BS2 Buffer/Splitter
 Real McCoy Custom RMC3 Wah

All critical audio paths are completed with Van den hul D-102 cable and
Neutrik connectors.  Needless to say, it sounds sweet.  I've included a
couple of pictures for you, including a shot of the bottom, where I had the
two butterfly latches installed as an option.

Thanks again for working so closely with me on this project.

Mike,

Sorry it’s taken me a month to write you, but I guess that also gave me some time to give a fair evaluation of the product.  For what I paid for this board, you can’t beat it.  It even puts to shame some of the higher end models, and I’m glad I didn’t drop a lot of money on a 3 or 4 hundred dollar board when I had all the functionality and quality that I needed in your board for much less.  As promised, here are some pictures of my setup for you to post on your site.  Thanks for manufacturing such a quality product, and I look forward to referring many more people to you in the future.

 Hi Mike

I just got my pedal a few days ago. Looks fantastic! I would definitely say
its the best deal I've seen in a well-made pedalboard. Here in Canada, I've
seen even the biggest stores carry new boards for well over $150+ US (~$250+
CAN w/o tax). And they're not even nearly as big, or sturdy as the TL370.

As soon as I attach my pedals, I'm going to take a few digital pics and post
 them on my website!

 Great job, rock on.

Hi Mike,

Pedalboard came today like you thought it would :) It's perfect, just what I was looking for - well worth the wait.  You saved me a lot of money! Very nice work, I'll have no problems recommending you to anyone else I find looking for a board. Hopefully I'll be able to send you a pic sometime of the finished setup

Thanks again,

P.S. Thanks for the "carpet covered" bonus, looks real nice

Hi Mike,
I got the pedalboard last week in New York, but I just got back home and finally have access to email. Anyways, I'm just writing to tell you that the pedalboard is great. The case is nice and solid and the thing itself is just what I expected. I've been giving away your card to people in my band as well as to others who might eventually be interested in getting a pedalboard. I couldn't ask for anything more.
Thanks a lot for everything, it is much appreciated.

Mike,
This thing is awesome!  I just got mine on Friday and was up until about 1 in the morning putting my effects on there.  I love this board.  It is really every thing that I needed in a board...other than a power supply, which you might want to think about supplying in the future.  It is built great and for the cost, it is an unbelievable deal.  I saw your ad again this morning on Harmony central so I just wrote a good plug for you on there.  If you want to send me some more business cards I can give them out when people ask about it.  I play at a church with 6000+ weekly attendance so there are a bunch of guitarists that like to check out my new gear.  Thanks again, I will definitely direct any one who is in need of a board your way.  I mentioned in my ad that I once sent a custom price to NGM boards and they would have charged over $400 to make one like this...I sure like your prices better, especially since your products are quality.  Thanks again.

Mike,

Got it last night. It is perfect!! it is a monster. I love the simplicity of it, that much translates good from your website. I was in touch with quite a few builders, yours seemed like the best blank canvas so to speak.  I will have to move it with a hand cart or mount casters on one end (any suggestions) for the most part, it is like trying to pick up a couple twins. it won't move a lot luckily. I spent last night setting it all up. I'll try to get a digi camera and send you a shot.  It will be one for you files. it is an unusual guitar rig that has evolved over the course of about 5 years of serious thought and trial and error!*&^
thanks much, if you ever need a good word or reference let me know.

Hey man - the case is working out great!  Quick question...I think I may have too much foam.  With the Velcro that I've mounted on the board (nails and screws), they hold in place nicely.   I just don't want to push down too hard on the pedals, ya know?  What do you think?  Just remove the top layer of the extra foam?

Take care,

Sorry about that Scott I completely forgot about that.  If you want I can
send the carpet for you.  I just spray the hell out of the pedalboard with 3m Super 77 spray adhesive and spread out the carpet.  Then just use small nails to hold it in on the bottom.

Thanks

 Hey,

I got the pedal board today!! It looks great and I can't wait to use
it. There are a few problems I think you should know about, though.  For one, the color is very cool, but not exactly what I had asked for. I wanted it in black with the pedalboard inside gray. It isn't a HUGE deal, because it still looks cool. Also, the foam in the lid wasn't attached when I opened it up. I mean there was glue residue on the lid, but the foam wasn't stuck to it and the foam pieces themselves don't stick together as well as they should. I'm guessing this is all because of the heat or the weather or something that made the glue unstick. I pushed the foam in there, so I think it will hold? anyway, everything else looks great, the craftsman ship is high quality.

Besides that, I really like the board. It's  a little larger in person than in photos, but I have a lot of pedals! One other problem, actually, that I  have been having, is that it is a little difficult to put the board back together (keeping the hinges together when it closes). I don't know if the hinges are messed up or I just need to get used to putting it back very
 slowly. I don't know!...

I want you to know that I do love the board despite the few problems I faced. I thought I should be honest though. Thank you for your time and I will recommend you to guitarists all over looking for a durable, high quality board. Bye.

 Hi Mike,

I got the pedalboard friday (only two days in shipping). I stayed up til 2am drilling holes and running power and signal cables between all my stomp boxes. I love the new george l cables, btw... There are no cables on top of the pedal board - everything is routed underneath - a great feature.

The only other thing I want to do is screw in a couple of guides in the lid to keep the top from sliding off center in a hard fall (mine has four latches, not the standard two latches and two hinges). I still like the latches better though. I've always had problems with the hinges. One bad move and the hinge is bent up beyond use...

Another thing I did was shorten the support under the floorboard to a 2x2 block. It now has a lot more room for routing cables underneath. Thanks for the great work. I love it. I'll send you a pic if I get around to it...

Finally,

Here's a photo of my custom-sized TL-370. It works *great* and it's easy to carry on and off stage quickly, fast set up and take down.

One quick question, can I bend the little "ears" on the back hinges a little flatter? Sometimes it's hard to line both sets of ears and I have to rassle with it. Other than that, it's fantastic! Great job!

I rec'd the pedalboard today. It looks great and put together really sound. It's alot bigger than I anticipated. I did measure before I purchased but it's not quite the same thing when you visually see the piece. I'd like to have another made but smaller in depth. I believe the 830 is 20 or 21". I think 15" would be better for me.

I got the pedalboard.  It arrived in good shape, looks great, and it is exactly what I ordered.  But totally my fault, it is bigger than I expected.  I should have paid more attention to the dimensions.  I don't have or want enough pedals to need
that much space, and I don't want to have such a large footprint on stage.

I am going to try to find a buyer locally.  It is a nice piece and I should not have much trouble selling it for at least close to what I paid.

As soon as I sell, (or maybe even before) I will be back to discuss a shorter version of the same.  I am thinking briefcase size, like if the purple one on your website was cut off between the Morley pedal and the first Boss pedal.

Thanks for a nice job, sorry I was not more careful

My Ground Control and expression pedals fit on it great, and I have room left over for stowing my midi cable.  I'll email you a picture as soon as I can.  Out of curiosity  (I'm and engineer remember), I removed the six screws that hold the false bottom onto the lower lid just to check out the construction, and I'm
thinking about adding handles to it so it's a removabe pedalboard.  I might have problems with the pedalboard sitting up so high off the ground when it's attached to the lower lid, but I'll try it out as is and see how it works for me.

I have both boxes/boards now.  I am truly impressed!  The purple vinyl
looks much cooler than I anticipated, and both the size and the neat
storage compartment you put in for me are exactly what I was hoping
for!  It just looks great.

The black one looks good too - not as cool as the distressed purple - and if anything, might be a little bigger than I need, but that just means I'll have to buy a couple extra pedals :)  I've been thinking of incorporating a third wah pedal anyway haha.

Tomorrow I'll be picking up velcro and making the location decisions, so I'll let you know how that goes.  Once I have everything the way it's gonna be, I'll snap some pics to send you for your web site.

Thanks also for including the extra purple vinyl.  I'm sure I'll find a use
for it - even if I have to be creative.  It's just too cool looking to
 stick in a drawer.

Hello Mike,

I received my pedalboard in record time. Great workmanship!!! I was very impressed. I'm sorry that I didn't get a chance to get back with you yet, I have been busy with gigs and work and I just gave the pedalboard to a carpenter friend of mine that will line the bottom with some velcro carpet. He was impressed by your work even though he has no idea what it is for!! After I get it back, I will mount some pedals and take some digital pictures to send you in case you want to use them for your website. I'm in the army band, so I do some traveling. I will try to get some business for you (I know of a few people already that are interested). I can't thank you enough. I plan on getting another sometime in the future. I am stoked to hear that you may name the new pedalboard TL-370. That is very cool! Alright, good luck in your endeavors and again thank you so much.

Hi Mike,

I received the pedalboard today in good shape.  I love it.  I've been
gigging with an SKB PS-25 pedalboard for the past two years and your's is such a step up.  Cool!!  I'll leave positive feedback for you also.  Rock on,

screws on the bottom. Can you send me one or tell me where I can find one .

Thanks

Mike,
Got the pedalboard yesterday...it's awesome.. thanks again.
I'll contact you soon. I need a road case for a musicman hd-130 guitar headi have.

thanks. -david h

Michael

Received the case yesterday. It's a beauty, built like a tank!
Thank you for building it for me!
For the way, I'm going to try removing the rubber feet from my wah, and
velcro the pedal to the wood. If I use enough velcro, the tape shouldn't
come loose.

Hi Mike. Yes that came yesterday---thanks. Couple things. Beautiful design and workmanship. HEAVY. I am keeping my fingers crossed to see what this will weigh after I load all my pedals.I have one large Engl preamp pedal that will add a lot to the overall weight. I might need a damn crane to move this to the truck and to the clubs. Only other option will be a large Anvil type flight case. The plywood is just----heavy. Also need to figure a way to attach some of the larger pedals without drilling thru the bottoms of the chassis.Wish me luck. I'll let you know my ongoing feelings. (How long has that paint cured? It seems somewhat soft yet.) Thanks again for the fast shipping. Jim.

Hey Mike

Just a quick email to let you know my thoughts on your
pedalboard.  Very Very nice! Well designed, balanced, and not as heavy as I thought it would be. I've had good comments from people who've inspected it as well.  Hopefully we can steer some business your way as I get out and gig in the following months. I was able to install a rear elevated tier and it's quite a sight to behold. I'll send you some pics when I get a chance.

I'm a very happy customer! all the best! Jim Cassero

Thanks Jim,

I'm glad it's working out for you.  I've added a web site since I built your board and added a new model too.  Check it out at
www.custompedalboard.com
when you get the chance.  I've added a feedback page and I'll post this with the other email you sent when you first got the board.  I've had a few people add a 2nd tier to their boards.  I'm thinking about retiring my old
pedalboard for a snazzy new one.  Maybe one day.  Anyway I appreciate all the help and support by showing it off to the masses!

Thanks
Mike
